Interiors
Smith Lake Glass and Stone House
Project Details
The design concept for this home was to maximize glazing for views to the lake while anchoring the spaces of the interior around a central stone wall. The glass is floor to ceiling on the upper level an extends continuously from one corner of the house to the other – only broken by the intersecting stone wall. The stone wall is pierced by openings whenever passageways or views are needed. The wall greets visitors alongside the entry door and travels through the public spaces of the house.
The interior finishes are simple and elegant, while allowing the drama of the lake to unfold around almost every space in the house.
