BK Studio Offices

Project Details

The new studio for Barrett Kent is located in a 100-year-old building originally constructed for Crawford Ford. The building later became well-known as the Roger’s Army Navy Surplus store, long-recognized for its camouflage-painted exterior. In 2016, the building underwent a major renovation led by the Garrison Barrett Group, where Brian Barrett was a partner at the time. Today, the building is also home to Savant Financial Services and Black Box Logistics.

An open collaborative studio space is the heartbeat of the new offices flanked by a conference room and partner offices. A spine of white oak book cases organize this large space into a zone of personal work spaces and a zone of collaborative meeting spaces. A large cafe space is situated behind the interior offices and near the building core, but is located beneath a massive light monitor, so nearly every space in the studio is filled with natural light from the large north-facing windows.
