Merchants | SouthPoint Bank

In 1987, Merchants Bank constructed their headquarters in Cullman, Alabama. When the bank merged with SouthPoint Bank, they commissioned us to help them update the building to better meet their needs for serving the bank’s customers. Barrett Kent re-programmed the bank’s department areas to improve the working environment by repurposing unused spaces, strengthen team connectivity and bringing an overall lightness to the finishes that felt dark and tired.

The centerpiece of the project is the redesigned branch lobby that functions like a modern bank: approachable teller stations, comfortable seating areas, and refined branch offices. Another highlight is the large break and gathering spaces on the second floor that comfortably serve the bank staff but can easily pivot into a setting for entertaining customers and hosting board meetings.  The renovation was constructed through three phases that allowed the bank to operate normally throughout construction.
